Laboratoire de Biologie Moléculaire Eucaryote

UMR 5099
Director: Michèle CAIZERGUES-FERRER

The LBME (Laboratory/Department of Eukaryotic Molecular Biology) (UMR 5099) is comprised of eight research groups, located in the CNRS building (IBCG) on the Rangueil Paul Sabatier University campus in Toulouse, France.

Research themes :
Our research interests are the genetic and epigenetic control of eukaryotic gene expression in normal and pathological contexts. Two major themes are addressed:

  • the structural and functional characterization of RiboNucleoParticles, nuclear or nucleolar (telomerase, snoRNPs, scaRNPs, pre-ribosomes, 7SK …)
  • the dynamic structure of chromatin in relation to the transcriptional activity of genes and homologous recombination
