Dynamics and Disorders of Ribosome Synthesis

Our group investigates the structural organization of nuclear functions by conjugating ultrastructural and molecular biology/genetics approaches in yeast. We are especially focusing on the spatial coordination of ribosome biogenesis along two lines of studies : nucleolar organization and nuclear export of the ribosomal subunits. This work has led us to develop cryomethods for preparing yeast for high-resolution electron microscopy.

Organism studied :

Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Keywords :

Ribosome biogenesis - Nucleocytoplasmic trafficking - Nucleolus - Nuclear pore complex - Yeast - Electron Microscopy - Cryofixation
